Tnest: building the studio website first

Before building websites for other people, I built tnest.eu to the standard I want to deliver: fast, secure, bilingual and easy for a non-technical owner to run.

The brief

A studio website has to prove the craft. It should load quickly, work well on a phone, read clearly in two languages and be safe to run. So I treated it as the first client project and the strictest one.

A calm visual identity

The identity is called Danube. It uses a restrained palette of deep water blue-green, mist, stone and slate, with a single ochre accent, and pairs Schibsted Grotesk with Source Serif 4 for a clear, grown-up reading experience.

What the site does

  • Bilingual in Slovak and English.
  • Installable as an app on a phone.
  • A contact form that sends through authenticated SMTP.
  • Self-hosted fonts and no tracking cookies.
  • Hosted in the EU.

An admin panel that is safe by default

  • Passwords stored with bcrypt.
  • CSRF protection on every change.
  • Lockout after 5 failed sign-ins in 15 minutes.
  • Two-factor sign-in with a time-based code (TOTP).
  • An audit log of what changed and when.
  • Automatic backups with restore.

How client work is handled

Tnest offers package lines for businesses and for individuals. Client sites are first shown on private preview addresses, and nothing is ever published without the client's written approval.

Why it matters

The same foundations now go into every site: speed, security, two languages where needed and an owner who can edit content without calling a developer.
